The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a club at Franklin Central that meets Monday’s and Friday’s at 7:10 before school in the FA Cafeteria for Bible study and occasionally meets after school for fellowship.
“FCA is a good avenue for me to be able to share my faith with other students and hopefully bring more students to Jesus,” co-sponsor Jeff Massey explains.
Jeff Massey is a counselor at Franklin Central High School and a few years ago after the previous sponsor took a different job in another state, he jumped at the opportunity to sponsor FCA.
Becky Fledderman, also a counselor at Franklin Central High School, thought it would be a great opportunity to also join in as co-sponsor and help continue FCA.

“The purpose behind it (FCA) is to get students together with a common interest and that way we can fellowship with each other, grow strong with each other, but also deepen our faith and have that community aspect and grow together in that way,” co-sponsor Becky Fledderman describes.
Fledderman states that either herself or Mr. Massey leads Bible study on Monday mornings and that Friday mornings are student-led.
“I love sharing a message and my life experiences on a Monday, but my favorite part is watching students share their faith with other students on Friday because I think that can have even more impact,” Massey adds.
Fledderman explains that it can be a challenge to keep the club fresh so she makes sure that she has different lessons and plays different games to keep students engaged.
“I feel like our club can actually be life-changing and turn people’s lives towards God which is always going to put them in a better place than they are without him,” Massey says.
